Windows 8 is the codename for the upcoming version of Microsoft Windows that follows Windows 7 and on 29 February 2012, Microsoft released Windows 8 Consumer Preview, the current beta version, to the public at its website. According to the official Build Windows 8 twitter, Windows 8 Consumer Preview was downloaded one million times within its first day of release. Did you download the Consumer Preview? How do you feel about Windows 8's new features such as its horizontal panning of tiles instead of traditional desktop icons. Although users are able to revert back to the desktop interface in Windows 8 whenever they want, the new tile-based Start screen is a significant departure from what we are used to on a Personal Computer screen. It makes your laptop looks like a mobile or tablet. How excited or annoyed are you by this direction Microsoft is taking for its operating system for the future? Do you think the traditional icon-based desktop interface will disappear totally from future Operating System?
