I have NEVER heard of a smelly scalp caused from prespiration. Actually, I don't believe scalp perpiration produces a smell. People do put SCENTED gels, creams in their scalp and hair so maybe you got a scented product in the hair confused with something that does not exist, smelly scalp. If it really does exist, it is VERY RARE and UNCOMMON. Most shampoos are scented, so if you are someone who cannot stand scented shampoo then you should do yourself a favour and buy UNSCENTED shampoo. Unscented shampoos actually exist even though you have to really look to find.

Gernier I find is really good for anything, I even use it on my sheep dogs. If it can get rid of the odour caused by dogs rolling around in what ever, I think it could help out with the above condition.

Use shampoo that is ment for someone who has oily hair and it should help. I personally use LUSH I love juicy shampoo I have really greasy hair and it makes my hair smell good and really really clean.

I would recommend to a man that he buys a bottle of Dove For Men shampoo or Axe shampoo, because they both are very nice smelling and lather up good.

I imagine the issue isn't that they are using or not using shampoo but not washing their scalp properly, which causes skin, dead hair, and shampoo residue to build up on the scalp which can cuase it to smell.
Try using Head and Shoulders and make sure to work it into your scalp with your fingers. Once a week try using a paste of baking soda and water instead of shampoo (but if you dye your hair, this can strip some of the color.)

Depending on the symptoms and the cause; check with a doctor for the best product to use, or even an pharmacist.

try a product called Tegretol or ask any pharmacist about a coaltar product. These maybe of help. If non work them you'll need to see a dermatologist.

I don't think that a shampoo will prevent your head from smelling after you sweat, since there isn't a shampoo that leaves behind an anti-perspirant. That being said, a lot of people can have really oily scalps, which can trap the perspiration... so anything that reduces oil. The trick to doing that is sort of a double-edged sword since sometimes people naturally produce a lot of oil and sometimes the oil is produced because of overwhelming dry skin (so if you used a shampoo that was for an "oily scalp" & you had dry skin, the rebound will be worse than the original problem). The only solution is to try both--I use a salon product called Euforia & it is really good--I sort of have a combination of the above two conditions and it's really helped to even it out. Another key is to watch your use of conditioner (use only on the ends of the hair!) & other products. Good luck!

I have found in a time of someone asking me about Shampoo that the one I always talk about is The Aussie Mega Shampoo as I find it smells very pleasant and I have found new baby hairs all along my hair line.
